Ahammer discovered the near-drowning victim had stopped breathing, so she performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and revived her. The girl was hospitalized on a ventilator for a few days at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, then released, Fire Chief Don Hughes said.
