Geriatric Medicine poses special challenges including complex decisions and discussions with patient and family members; especially patients with Cognitive impairment, Dementia, Depression and other behavioral disorders, Poly pharmacy and other chronic medical problems.
Dr. Thakkar grew up in Mumbai, India and moved to the United States in 2005. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Geriatrics in NY, he moved to Northern Virginia where he worked and served in multiple capacities including Chairman of Medicine Department at NHUVA Hospital system. He decided to move to Florida and serve Brevard County as a Geriatric Physician. He has multiple years of experience in treating Geriatric patients with complex medical problems in different settings including Hospital, Rehab, Assisted living facility amongst others. He lives in Brevard County with his wife and two kids and is proud to serve and live in this community.
